A team of rehabilitation professionals comprised of physicians, physical and occupational therapists, occupational health specialists, case managers, and a psychologist provide services to those with an occupational injury or illness, physical impairment, or disability.
Person and professional referrals are accepted. Persons with financial hardships are assisted in obtaining access to our services.
An evaluation indicates the current level of function, factors which may interfere with job performance, and services needed to remediate problems. The employer is contacted to ascertain specific job requirements.
These programs are designed to increase an individual's level of physical functioning with a goal of returning to work. Both programs utilize whole body stretching and strengthening exercises, work simulations, essential job tasks, and instruction in body mechanics and pain management, but vary in frequency and duration. Services can be provided at the Return to Work Center, at the work site, if appropriate, and/or in conjunction with modified work.
Training for an individual or group is available at our facility or at the work site. Single presentations or an in-depth series of classes provide instruction in the major benefits of injury prevention through the development of proper fitness and improved work methods. Job specific tasks are used to demonstrate the application of these techniques.
Work screenings assure a good match between employee capabilities and the physical demands of the job. Evaluations are conducted based on specific job requirements and may include an assessment of aptitudes, skills, abilities, work behaviors, and physical capabilities.
The Return to Work Center provides paratransit eligibility assessments for Greater Peoria Mass Transit (CityLink). Following the federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines for eligibility, cognitive and physical assessments are conducted to determine optimum access to the community through use of the fixed-route or paratransit transportation services.
A job analysis is a comprehensive assessment to determine essential job functions as well as the critical physical demands required such as lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, climbing, etc. The end result provides the employer with a basis for a job description and can be used to develop pre-placement screening protocols.

Using ergonomic principles, the physical traits of the worker are matched with the tools, equipment, and workplace. The goal of this service is to improve the efficiency, safety, and comfort of the worker.
The Baltimore Therapeutic Equipment simulator can mirror a multitude of job tasks and functional activities, allowing for a comprehensive approach to evaluation and rehabilitation of occupational injuries and disabilities.
